Stefani--

First of all, I'm glad to hear that you and your husband found a guitar that's grabbed your attention and feels right for you. As a rep for Guitar Center, let me officially let you know that that's exactly what we like to hear. And let this post serve as further proof that we at GC are very much aware of what customers have to say on the web about their experiences with us. You're right. The power of social media has grown to the point that it can't be ignored. I was hired to work at GC specifically to guage how customers feel about us out there in the blogosphere and build positive relationships with them. I read all kinds of music blogs and forums, and I happened to come across your blog entry. This is exactly the kind of case that I love to report to our executives. We're listening, and we've found that the positive results of sharing with and learning from our customers are invaluable. Thanks for the feedback, and congrats on the new guitar! Let us know if there's anything we can do for you in the future.

Great post, Stefani!
I had a similar experience from "The Eye in the Sky" a few weeks ago, after I had blogged on SomaQuest about our field trip to Houston's Museum of Natural Science. Someone I'd never heard of commented on the post. Turns out, she's a staff member at the museum, and a blogger, and she must also have the duty to comb the internet to see if anyone is talking about them. I actually thought it was pretty cool.
So is twitter worth it, or an annoying distraction? I'm going to a conference next week and think it might be cool to have that kind of connectivity throughout. Whaddya think?
