Taking Better Photos at Family Events

Whether you’ve made the jump to digital or are still using film, here are some tips that can help you make the photos of your holiday and family events even more memorable.
- Don’t be afraid to get close: While group shots are important, remember to take photos of the individuals at your event. If you have a large crowd, it may be difficult later to identify specific people in a group shot.
- Catch candid moments: Often, photos taken while the subjects are not posing are much more natural. Don’t be afraid to use your zoom to catch an unexpected smile!
- Bring extra disposable cameras: They are so convenient and affordable. Give some to your guests. You can’t catch all the action, but with extra cameras out there, you’ll get a much broader range of photos. And don’t forget to give some to the kids too - you’ll be surprised at how creative their point of view can be.
