Researching Your Family History - Part 2

This is a continuation of my post from last week on researching your family history.

There are also many other blogs that focus on tracing family histories, restoring old photos, converting aging materials to newer formats and sharing your fondest memories with others online and off. One particularly good web site is George G. Morgan’s Along Those Lines Blog - A Life in Genealogy and Training at http://ahaseminars.livejournal.com. Another very helpful blog is Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter at http://blog.eogn.com.

If you would like to read more about genealogy, there are several well-written books on the subject.
Two that come highly recommended are:

Genealogy 101: How to Trace Your Family’s History and Heritage (Paperback)
by Barbara Renick (Author), National Genealogical Society (Author)

The Organized Family Historian: How to File, Manage, and Protect Your Genealogical Research and Heirlooms (National Genealogical Society Guides) (Paperback) by Ann Carter Fleming (Author) (currently out of print)

Of course in addition to researching your ancestors and tracing your family tree, you will want to create biographies, record personal stories and conduct interviews with your living relatives so your family history is complete and up to date. I will be covering these and many other related topics in much greater detail in future articles – so add a bookmark to this blog and check back often.
