Legacy Multimedia earns Multimedia Award
Hermes Creative Awards 2009 gives Honorable Mention for Video Tribute
May 11, 2009 (Houston, TX) – Hermes Creative Awards recently announced winners for the 2009 international awards competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Among the winners is Houston-based Legacy Multimedia, for the creation of “Video Tribute to Jan and Dan Duncan.” The video tribute was created for The Blue Bird Circle annual gala in 2008.
Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals. There were more than 3,700 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the Hermes Creative Awards 2009 competition. Winners were selected from 142 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts – advertising, publications, marketing/branding, integrated marketing, public relations/communications, electronic media, and pro bono.
The “Video Tribute to Jan and Dan Duncan” won Honorable Mention in the Video/Nonprofit category. Focusing on the Duncan’s charitable giving and support of the Texas Children’s Hospital, the video gives a unique perspective of the couple: who they are, their role in the community, and why this cause is so important to them. The high-quality techniques and creative use of interviews, music, photos, and other elements helped create a one-of-a-kind multimedia presentation. The result is a well-crafted, emotive tribute to one of Houston’s leading couples – a video selected over thousands of other entries as a winner in the Hermes Creative Awards 2009 competition.
About Legacy Multimedia
Legacy Multimedia is a women-owned company established in 2003 by Stefani Twyford and Isabelle MacCrimmon, a pair of gifted artisans who share the same creative vision and the same keen interest in preserving personal legacies for posterity. Legacy Multimedia’s mission is to help families, individuals, companies and organizations chronicle history, share life stories, connect generations and preserve their legacies in timeless, high-quality multimedia presentations.
Pooling their well-developed talents in the fields of visual art, writing, directing, production and editing, Twyford and MacCrimmon have gained a reputation for offering the utmost quality in tribute videos and biographies, artful DVD video presentations, archival photo services, and faithful digital conversions for a discerning clientele that appreciates the lasting value of fine craftsmanship.
“Everyone has stories to share. Though people may tend to minimize these tales since they were their personal experiences, we know that their family and descendants would cherish being able to share in these memories,” said Twyford. “Using classic filmmaking techniques and the latest digital tools, we seamlessly weave together vintage photos, old footage, and audio tracks with interviews, voice-over narrations, music, animations, and titles to create a wonderful tapestry of images and sounds that share memories, impart wisdom, and mark history to inform, entertain and inspire – today and for many years to come.”
“My personal mission is to create projects that touch people’s lives and become lasting keepsakes for now and for generations to come,” said MacCrimmon. “In addition to helping safeguard family memories, I love using my strong technical background and creativity to make our client’s visions come to life on screen in ways that both educate and entertain.”
